Abstract A method and composition for protecting and/or treating neuroinjury are disclosed. In one aspect, the present application discloses a method for protecting and/or treating a subject from organophosphate-induced neuronal injury. The method comprises administering to a subject an effective amount of 4R cembranoid, 4S cembranoid or a cembranoid analogue. In another aspect, the application discloses neuroprotective pharmaceutical compositions for protecting and/or treating a subject from organophosphate-induced neuronal injury. A kit for protecting and treating a subject from organophosphate-induced neurodamage is also disclosed.
